Features of change in the Iraqi political structure after the 2018 parliamentary elections

Abstract

Since the founding of the Iraqi state in the year 1921, the dilemma of reform has been a sign that political systems and successive governments have been unable to achieve, as it has not been able to make the institutional reform process consistent with societal developments. Using violence and radically changing the political structure to meet the interests of those in authority, and after 2003 the parliamentary system and democratic frameworks were adopted, and political parties also failed to establish a flexible political structure capable of renewal, which led to failure in the management of the state, and had it not been for the external will of Iraq’s process Forced change also to its political structure, which is the most likely option if objective conditions exist for the external factor in bringing about change.
