Abstract

In light of the increasing conflict and competition i international relations, and the attempts to impose influence and control over resources, many countries, most notably Turkey, have developed strategies to address energy security issues and improve their infrastructure, in addition to creating a shared energy system. Geopolitical factors have significantly contributed to shaping the influence of states and their extent of impact. Energy security has become one of the main variables affecting the strength of a nation, as well as a strict tool for imposing influence. Consequently, the concept of energy security has emerged as an important and effective element in determining the nature of international relations, as well as being one of the key factors influencing the formulation of international policies. It has created opportunities for mutual cooperation between countries on one hand, and fueled conflicts and wars on the other.
