The concept of political stability shares similarities with other concepts in the humanities and political sciences, as it is often ambiguous, complex, and lacks a universally accepted definition. It is a normative concept, meaning that the factors ensuring stability in one political system may cause instability in another. Political stability is a universal aspiration for nations and societies, as it represents a high ideal. Its achievement leads to key outcomes such as reconstruction, investment, development, progress, and prosperity. However, political stability cannot be achieved without specific factors and indicators that support it. These factors range from the orderly transfer of power, establishing its legitimacy, and safeguarding sovereignty, to the successful implementation of economic policies that enhance individual welfare. Ultimately, the stability of a political system is deeply tied to the stability and well-being of its people.
