Cooperation in the Chaos of the International Community

Abstract

    The international community is composed of a group of international and non-international actors, and there is no supreme central authority that imposes and manages these actors within society. Each state enjoys sovereignty independent of other states. According to what the schools of thought in international relations see, this leads to the prevalence of chaos and exacerbates crises and conflicts between states within that community. International interactions witness a rise in the scale of conflict and competition while the scale of cooperation declines. However, schools of thought have reached the conclusion that the absence of a supreme authority and the prevalence of chaos do not prevent cooperation, whether limited between two or more states, for the purpose of achieving common interests and goals among the various members of the international community.
