Abstract

In order to draw a structural conclusion for sustainable development in Iraq after 2003, it was done by analyzing the challenges facing the path of sustainable development in its economic, social, and environmental dimensions. The research indicates that the Iraqi economy depends on oil as one of the main challenges, which makes the economy vulnerable to global fluctuations. The research also discusses the social challenges embodied in the high rates of unemployment and population density and the deterioration of basic services such as education and health care. In addition to this, there is environmental degradation resulting from desertification, climate change, and mismanagement of resources. The research concludes the necessity of adopting structural reforms and sustainable policies to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development in Iraq
